REMINDER: TOT Enrollment Not Dependent on TPS Completion

Please review the following joint update from DOCJT and KLEC:

Pursuant to KRS 15.540, all telecommunicators must complete all Telecommunicator’s Professional Standards (TPS) within 120 days of their hire date. Please note that completion of the TPS standards is not a prerequisite for enrollment in the Telecommunicator Overview Training (TOT).

KRS 15.540 does not affect your ability to enroll in TOT, and part-time telecommunicators can enroll in TOT before completing TPS.

Multiple opportunities to enroll in Public Safety Dispatch Academy (PSDA) and TOT remain available throughout 2025. As a reminder, the deadline to take TOT for those part-time telecommunicators who were already employed before the class was offered is set to expire six (6) months from the date the class was first offered on July 1, 2025.
