The Resiliency Section (Professional Development and Wellness Program) brings a comprehensive approach to wellbeing by striving to provide Kentucky law enforcement officers and dispatchers with the tools required to have a long life, a successful career and a happy retirement.

Course topics range from stress and wellness to individuals in crisis, finance, communication with loved ones, and resiliency training on handling adversity (i.e. job loss, illness, disaster or death).

Standing as the primary initiative for the Resiliency Section is the Kentucky Post-Critical Incident Seminar. KYPCIS is a three-day training led by mental health professionals trained to work with peace officers and dispatchers, and driven by a team of law enforcement and public safety dispatch peers who have experienced their own critical incident and received training in Critical Incident Stress Management. Additionally, KYPCIS Military focuses on peace officers and dispatchers who experienced a critical incident while being deployed or during military training.
