501 KAR 4:050E, Required content and conduct of applicant training course, has been filed with the Legislative Research Commission as an emergency amendment on July 24, 2026, which can be accessed at https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/503/004/. The emergency amendment updates the regulation to change the minimum age for participation in the concealed deadly weapons applicant training course from twenty-one (21) years of age to eighteen (18) years of age. It also updates incorporated material as needed to conform to that change. A public hearing on this administrative regulation emergency amendment will be held on September 22, 2026, at 9:00 am, at the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, 125 Holmes Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601. Individuals interested in being heard at this hearing shall notify this agency of their intent to attend in writing by five workdays prior to the hearing. If no notification of intent to attend the hearing is received by that date, the hearing may be canceled. This hearing is open to the public. Any person who wishes to be heard will be given an opportunity to comment on the proposed administrative regulation amendment. A transcript of the public hearing will not be made unless a written request for a transcript is made. If you do not wish to be heard at the public hearing, you may submit written comments on the proposed administrative regulation emergency amendment. Written comments shall be accepted until September 30, 2026.
