The Southern Police Institute in Louisville will host an Internal Affiars: Policy, Practice and Legal Considerations course April 5-April 9, 2027, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course is designed to equip managers, supervisors and investigators with the framework to properly accept complaints, conduct internal investigations and address officer misconduct. This 40-hour course covers everything from formal statements and case file preparation to police-involved shooting investigations, body-worn camera impacts, social media misconduct and supervisor liability — using videos, case studies, and interactive scenarios.  The course will be held at McCandless Hall, 2303 S.
