In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Criminal Justice Training has made additional changes to the training calendar to ensure the safety of recruits, students, and staff. Those changes are as follows:

  • Basic Training Academy Class No. 510 and Public Safety Dispatch Academy Class No. 131 will complete their training next week. No formal ceremony will be conducted, but recruits and students will receive their completion certificates.

  • Basic Training Academy classes 511, 512 and 513 will be released to their agencies at the conclusion of training on Friday, March 20.

  • No training will be conducted on site beyond March 27 until further notice. DOCJT is prepared to resume normal operations as soon as restrictions are lifted.

While these are unprecedented times at DOCJT, the professionalism and dedication exhibited by all employees in meeting the needs of the students and client agencies is very much appreciated by the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet and the DOCJT executive staff. We will continue to communicate with our clients frequently as we assess needs. Please check DOCJT social media channels and the DOCJT website for the most up-to-date information.
