2241-24J ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE 40 Hours 

The Active Shooter Response course is meticulously designed to enhance participants' expertise and capabilities in effectively countering active, mass-murder threats. This course equips students with the requisite skills and knowledge to react swiftly and decisively when confronted with such critical situations, employing hands-on training methodologies. 

This course elevates active-shooter preparedness to a new standard by integrating immersive and dynamic interactive drills, along with scenario-based exercises that closely replicate real-life scenarios. The curriculum of this course is comprehensive, delving into a range of tactical subjects, including single officer and dual officer building searches, as well as close quarters battle (CQB) techniques. Furthermore, the program places a significant emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of responding officers in such high-stress situations. 

Required Resources: Gun-belt Body-armor Agency issued or authorized primary handgun with three (3) magazines Agency issued or authorized rifle w/sling with three (3) magazines Rain jacket and/or other appropriate inclement weather gear Eye and Hearing protection Ball cap for use during range activity Knee & elbow pads (discretionary) 

Required forms: Medical Safety and Agency Weapons Authorization form
